Svensson Park is a small park on White Lake across from Howmet and next to the Widy Cove Condominiums. There is a nice grassy area and a picnic table which sits underneath a large tree. You'll enjoy cool breezes and views of White Lake.
Great Lakes Restoration Initiative administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency received funding for 7 parks in the White Lake area. Project objectives for this park include enhancing the upland buffer, softening the shoreline, enhancing the wetland and shoreline native plant diversity and restoring portions of the wetlands that were historically in the area. The existing sea wall will be removed and replaced with bio-engineered shoreline stabilization techniques. The shoreline softening, upland and wetland plantings, nuisance species control and wetland creations will provide additional habitat for fish, reptiles, and amphibians, while also improving species diversity, water quality and aesthetics.
