Sheila Morris, Site Manager

Both SHAWL communities are designed for retirement living.  Conveniently located near downtown Whitehall and Montague, these charming communities feature 65 spacious one-bedroom apartments with organized activities and social events.  Residents can enjoy the independence and comfort of their own home without the worries of home ownership.  We also offer an on-site meal program five days a week, with the option of home delivery of meals.  Rents are subsidized by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  Residents must be age 62 or older or have impaired mobility; they must also meet HUD's income requirements.  According to HUD regulations, each resident pays 30 percent of adjusted monthly income as rent, which includes heat, water and electricity.  SHAWL welcomes everyone who meets the HUD age and income requirements, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, national origin or sexual orientation.

Business hours:
Whitehall: Monday-Friday 9am-4pm
Montague: by appointment
