Projects
Seasonal planting and care of flowers at the Montague City Hall, "Welcome to Montague" and Cemetery signs, Weathervane Park, Bike Trail, Dowling-Sheridan corner.
Seasonal planting and care of flowers at the Whitehall intersection of Main and Mears Streets.
Placing Merit Garden Award sign in front of one residence and one business each month during the summer season.
Recycling whenever and wherever possible in daily living.
In June, July and August we recognize one business and one residence in the community by placing a Merit Garden Award sign on the premises.
We have planted two large planters at Whitehall’s Howmet Community Playhouse.
We are developing a working/advisory relationship with Montague High School students in the FFA program. Under the leadership of teacher, (and club member), Kyle Fiebig, the students are growing food for the school cafeteria; constructing a rain garden; and researching ways to use native plants on the school property.
In May, we hold our public invited plant auction. This is our main fund raiser with almost all of the plants coming from our member’s gardens.
